Rx. Notoginseng San Qi 2-10g Stops bleeding and, transforms Blood Stasis, reduces swelling, alleviates pain, removes extravasated Blood and invigorates the Blood.
Lignum Dalbergiae Odoriferae Jiang Xiang 3-6g Disperses Blood Stasis, stops bleeding, invigorates the Blood, promotes the movement of Qi and alleviates pain.
With Dan Shen, for angina pectoris.
Rx. Salviae Miltiorrhizae Dan Shen 3-15g Invigorates the Blood, dispels Blood Stasis, nourishes the Blood and calms the Spirit.

SYNDROMES

  • Heart Blood Stagnation

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS

  • Palpitations
  • Stabbing pain in the anterior region over heart
  • Suffocating sensation in chest
  • Maybe drawing pain down internal aspect of arm (especially left arm)
  • Pain (in chest and/or arm) tends to be severe and intermittent
  • In severe cases:
    Cold limbs
    Cyanosis of lips and nails
  • T: Dark red with purple spots or Purple body
  • C: Little
  • P: Minute (scarcely perceptible) and thready or Knotted

TREATS

  • Coronary Heart disease

  • Angina pectoris
